Opening for White according to Anand 14

Med en grundig gjennomgang av 6 Le3 e5 i Najdorf Siciliansk kompletterer Khalifman sitt storverk av 14 repertoarbøker for hvit med 1 e4, liksom "a la Anand". Pussig nok kommer denne boka samtidig med nyutgaven av Sharpest Sicilian: Najdorf sett fra svarts side!

Denne repertoarserien fra den 14. verdensmester Alexander Khalifman og hans team i St. Petersburg må være noe av det grundigste og skikkeligste som er utgitt av åpningsbøker i sjakk, og her altså på evig jakt etter seier, store og små fordeler eller bare et press, initiativ eller behageligere spill for hvit med det klassiske åpningstrekket e2-e4.

Det hele er såpass grundig og omfattende at bøkene passer best for interesserte spillere med ratingstyrke fra omlag 14-1500 og helt opp. Og "alle som spiller svart mot e4", vil ha nytte av å studere hva Khalifman foreskriver mot din(e) åpning(er)!

.. I believe that all true Najdorf fans with Black plce the pawn on e6 only if that move is absolutely forced. Thus the players with White who develop their bishop to e3 need to better prepared for the lines that we shall analyze in this book than for the variations arising after 6. Be3 e6. Admittedly this is a purely subjective opinion on my part...

In the first part of this book we have analyzed the variation 6.Be3 Ng4. (..) In the second and main part of the book we have analyzed the line 6.Be3 e5. This is not just a single variation, but rather an entire complex of opening lines, whose theory is now so complicated, involving many different branches, that it resembles a separate opening.(..)

White is faced with an immediate choice: where to retreat his knight. The moves 7.Nf3 and 7.Nde2 are by no means harmless for Black, but nevertheless I would venture to recommend the traditionally main move 7.Nb3, with the already familiar plan of Qd2+f3+g4+0-0-0; in the first place, because I consider this to be White’s most principled approach, and secondly because the entire plan and all its nuances are already familiar to us from the previous books in this series."
